Laramie Colts Hire New Head Coach
The Laramie Colts of the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League have hired Nate Schwartz to be the team’s head coach for the 2010 season. He will be joined by assistant coach Sean O’Brien.
Schwartz played college baseball at Madison Area Technical College in Madison, WI and Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. Following his playing career, he served as an assistant coach at Augustana College before being hired as the pitching coach at the University of Texas-Permian Basin. He is currently in his third year at UTPB. For the past two summers, Schwartz has worked as the pitching coach for the Eau Claire Express of the Northwoods League.
O’Brien is in his second year as an assistant baseball coach at Iowa Central Community College. He began his college baseball career at ICCC. He was a teammate of Head Coach Nate Schwartz’ at Augustana College before moving on to Buena Vista University where he earned his degree in 2009. He will work primarily with the hitters as an assistant coach with the Colts.
