The Northwoods League has announced that they have added a new franchise in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.  The new team will be the 16th in the league.

An official announcement and news conference is scheduled for Wednesday, December 16 at 6:00 pm at the Centralia Center in Wisconsin Rapids.  On hand for the announcement will be Wisconsin Rapids Mayor Mary Jo Carson, Northwoods League Commissioners Dick Radatz, Jr., and the owners of the new franchise. 

Pending approval by the city council, the new team will play their home games at Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids.  Renovations to Witter Field as well as a “name the team contest” will be announced in coming weeks.
