Players of the Week Named in Texas Collegiate League

texas-collegiate-leagueThe Texas Collegiate League has named Mark Hudson and Trevor Lundgrin, both of the Victoria Generals, and Preston Springer of the Coppell Copperheads as their Players of the Week for the week ending August 11.

Hudson (Sam Houston State) hit .538 for the Generals, including three doubles, a triple, four RBI and five runs scored.  For the year, Hudson is hitting .386 with one home run, three triples, 15 doubles, 29 runs scored and 27 RBI.

Springer (Wichita State) hit .529 for the week with a home run, a double, four RBI and four runs scored.  This season, he has a hitting line of .291/.380/.391.  He has one home run, eight doubles, 21 RBI and 14 runs scored.

Lundgrin (Northeastern Junior College) pitched 7.0 innings in relief during the week, including a five inning, no-hit stint.  So far this year, Lundgrin is 2-3 with a 2.33 ERA.  In 26.0 innings, he has given up 21 hits, allowed eight earned runs, struck out 11 and walked 17.
