The East Texas Pump Jacks of the Texas Collegiate League have hire David Therneau to be their pitching coach.  Therneau currently serves as the pitching coach at Embry-Riddle University in Daytona Beach, FL.

Therneau was an outstanding pitcher, first at Navarro Junior College, then at Texas Tech, and finally at Bellevue University..  He joined the Cincinnati Reds organization and pitched well until an elbow injury sidelined him.  He tried to make a comeback in the Reds minor league system, but to no avail.  He finished up his playing career with the independent Schaumburg Flyers and New Jersey Jackals.  He also served as a player/coach for the San Angelos Colts.
