corvallis-knightsThe Corvalis Knights of the West Coast League have announced the hiring of Ryan Wing to be the team’s pitching coach during the 2010 season.  Wing takes over the pitching coach duties from Ryan Heil who helped the Knights’ pitchers become the top pitching staff in the West Coast League in 2009.

Wing is currently in his first year as an assistant coach at Riverside Community College.  He spent nine seasons playing professionally in the Chicago White Sox, Texas Rangers, and Oakland Athletics organizations.  His final year was spent in Japan pitching for the Nippon-Ham Fighters.

Wing pitched collegiately at Riverside Community College where he is currently pursuing a masters degree.  At RCC, Wing was coached by highly respected pitching coach Andrew Checketts.  Wing credits much of his success to the time he spent with Checketts, who is currently the pitching coach at Oregon State and was the Knights very first pitching coach.

Additional information can be found on the Corvalis Knights website.
