The Winchester Royals of the Valley Baseball League have named John Lowery, Sr. as the team’s manager for the 2010 season.  He takes over for former former manager, and his son, John Lowery, Jr.

Lowery, Sr. has an extensive coaching background, including serving as an assistant coach with the Royals in 2009.  He worked along side his son, John Lowery, Jr. in 2009.  When Lowery, Jr. stepped aside as Royals head coach, the team didn’t have to look very far for their new field general.  The elder Lowery cvame highly recommended and beat out several other high quality candidates.

Lowery, Sr.’s first order of business will be to put together a team for the 2010 season.  some players have already been signed and more are expected to sign in the coming weeks.
