Mankato Assistant Coach Returning in 2010

mankato-moondogsThe Mankato MoonDogs of the Northwoods League have announced that Assistant Coach Jason Belk will return in 2010.  This will be Belk’s second year working under Head Coach Mike Orchard.

Belk is currently an assistant baseball coach at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA where he is also pursuing a masters degree.  He played collegiate baseball at the University of Iowa and also spent the summer of 2006 pitching for Mankato. 

Under his tutelage, the 2009 MoonDogs were one of the top pitching teams in the Northwoods League.  The team set a franchise record for ERA (2.50) aas well as for strikeouts (519).
