Submitted by admin on Monday, 28 September 2009No Comment

asheboro-copperheadsThe Asheboro Copperheads of the Coastal Plain League have hired Donnie Wilson as their head coach for the 2010 season.  Wilson replaces former head coach Tim Murray.

Wilson, who currently serves as an assistant coach at the College of the Sequoias in California, was an assistant coach with the Copperheads in 2009.  Wilson played college ball at Western Carolina University where he was an outfielder.

Wilson is looking forward to his first head coaching opportunity.  “I think working under Coach Murray this past summer allowed me to learn what it takes to be a head coach in the CPL and how to be a professional in that role,” Wilson added. “It will be different handling the day-to-day duties without Tim, but I’m confident I can get the job done.”

Additional information can be found on the Asheboro Copperheads website.
