The Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod Baseball League are eagerly awaiting the changes being made to their home ballpark, Eldredge Field.  The changes include a new backstop, new field netting down the first and third base lines, and new dugouts.

The Firebirds are no strangers to big changes.  Prior to the 2009 season, the team changed it’s name from the Cardinals to the Firebirds.  One thing that won’t be changing for the Firebirds in 2010 is the man leading the team.  Former Cape Cod Baseball League Manager of the Year Kelly Nicholson will be back at the helm of the Firebirds.  He will once again be joined by pitching coach Chris Beck and assistant coaches Benny Craig and Jason Brown.
