Renovation  of Sims Legion Park, home of the Gastonia Grizzlies of the Coastal Plain League, have been completed.  Following the season, the City of Gastonia dug up along the foul lines and improved the field drainage.  They also layed new Bermuda sod and installed new mats around the dugout that are also designed to improve drainage.

Grizzlies GM Jesse Cole said he was happy with the improvements and is looking forward to using the field next season.  Sims Legion Park hosts approximately 180 games each year.  In addition to Grizzlies’ games, the ballpark plays host American Legion, college and youth games.
