The Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs of the New York Collegiate Baseball League have hired Robert Mendoza as an assistant to manager Tim Lau.  Mendoza will serve as hitting coach and will coach third base.

Mendoza played previously with El Paso Bel Air High School, Wayland Baptist University, the El Paso Diablos, and the Sioux City Explorers.  He also served as a player coach with the San Angelo Colts.   He is a member of the El Paso Sports Hall of Fame.

Mendoza currently works as a middle school teacher in Amarillo TX.
