Work Continues On Waterloo’s Riverfront Stadium

Submitted by admin on Wednesday, 2 December 2009No Comment

waterloo-bucksCrews are continuing to make repairs and improvements to historic Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, IA.  The stadium was badly damaged during severe flooding in early 2009.  Because of the damage, the stadium’s two tenants, the University of Northern Iowa baseball team and the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League, could not use the field until well into the summer.

Improvements include refurbished locker rooms, offices, concession stands, souvenir stand, and ticket office.  In addition, wiring will be moved into the ceilings throughout the stadium and other designs will be used to limit damage from future floods.  All tolled, more than $1 million will be spent to repair and refurbish the stadium.

Work will be continuing throughout next season and is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010.

More information can be found on the Waterloo Bucks website.
